Forever Young
Forever Racing

Past perfect. Future-ready. Always Apache.

TVS Apache’s 20th year celebrated both the legacy of the brand and its readiness for new terrain. During FY 2025-26, the brand strengthened its portfolio through refreshed RR 310, RTR 160 4V and RTR 200 4V variants, followed by special 20th Anniversary Editions that celebrated the evolution of the franchise. The year also marked Apache’s entry into the adventure tourer category through the launch of the Apache RTX 300, extending the brand’s racing DNA into a new riding context.

Built on TVS Racing’s performance heritage, Apache continues to draw strength from the track. This racing-led philosophy shapes everything from product engineering and rider technologies to the experiences built around the brand. During the year, the inaugural international season of the TVS Apache Racing Experience (ARE) GP brought together riders across India, Nepal, Mexico and Colombia, extending Apache’s grassroots motorsport culture to a wider global community.

Apache also continued to sharpen its rider-focused technology proposition during the year. Refreshed variants introduced connected TFT clusters, traction control, voice assist, assist and slipper clutch systems and advanced lighting features, reinforcing the brand’s focus on combining performance with intelligent rider engagement.

As Apache enters its third decade, it continues to evolve with the same qualities that shaped its identity in the first place: racing instinct, engineering agility and the confidence to keep exploring new terrains.

Few motorcycle brands sustain their performance edge, rider connect and cultural relevance across generations the way Apache has. Over two decades, the brand has evolved from a race-inspired machine into a global performance franchise shaped by motorsport, engineering precision and a deep understanding of what excites riders. FY 2025-26 marked an important chapter in that journey, celebrating Apache’s undying appeal and two decades-old legacy while expanding its reach into newer formats, markets and experiences.

The idea that changed the game

The Apache story nearly didn’t happen. In 2003, the engineering team was developing a 125cc version of the Victor, but the then Chairman Venu Srinivasan saw the sketches, he felt the design was “too good” for that segment and ordered it to be used for a 150cc machine instead. This decision pushed TVSM beyond its commuter comfort zone, transforming a styling exercise into the birth of a racing-bred powerhouse.

Sculpted by grit and, yes, a boundary wall

Apache’s iconic design, specifically the sculpted fuel tank with its signature ‘bulge’ on the shoulder line, was so complex that no one in India had the capability to create the moulds at the time. In its formative years, lacking high-tech labs, engineers relied on raw ingenuity — such as using a school’s boundary wall on the outskirts of the city to test and fine-tune the bi-LED projector headlamps for the RR 310. This mix of ‘gut feel’ and engineering obsession remains the essence of the brand.

A history of firsts

TVS Apache has spent twenty years punching above its weight by defying market norms. It introduced fuel injection to the sub-200cc segment in 2008 and became India’s first dual-channel ABS-equipped bike in 2011 — eight years before it became a legal requirement for the industry. From the first catalytic converter on the TVS Shogun to India’s first fully ethanol-powered motorcycle, the Apache lineage is a showcase of TVSM’s relentless engineering prowess.

The brotherhood of ‘Fanatics’

Beyond the metal and rubber, Apache has spawned a community of over 3 lakh ‘fanatics’ known as the Apache Owners Group (AOG). As India’s first community dedicated to a specific brand, it has turned riders into brand evangelists who have undertaken over 400 curated rides. Every ride becomes content, and every rider becomes a local influencer, ensuring that one in every four Apache buyers is an existing owner upgrading within the family.
