Ceramic coat A ceramic coat is a chemical that is usually applied by hand to your motorcycle's painted surfaces. You just need to follow the instructions on the coat packaging. The ceramic coat forms an outer layer over the paint surface of your motorcycle, protecting it and also making it shine. The coat is hydrophobic, which means that water beads to the surface and flows off rather than sticking onto the paint. This makes cleaning the paint surface easier. Also, unlike wax polish, you don't need to re-apply a ceramic coat every time you wash your motorcycles. It lasts a lot longer. Wax polish Like a chemical coat, a wax polish is best applied by hand, and you simply need to follow the instructions provided on the packaging that the wax polish comes with. A wax polish gently peels a microscopic layer of your motorcycle's paint, and exposes a fresh layer of paint, therefore making your motorcycle look fresher or newer. A wax polish will be washed off when you wash your motorcycle. Also, you should not use wax polish too many times. A good polish once in 2-3 months should do. A wax polish can also be applied with a machine called the polishing wheel. However, this method is more expensive as it entails purchasing additional equipment.
