TVS Motors record 120,110 two-wheeler sales in February 07

TVS Motor Company recorded a growth of 10% by clocking 1,20,110 units of total two wheelers in February 2007 compared to 108,923 units registered during the similar period last year.

The motorcycle sales recorded 70,155 units in February 2007 compared to 66,391 units in February 2006, registering a growth of 6%. TVS StaR City continued to perform well especially the top end electric start version. This variant of the motorcycle has caught the attention of the discerning motorcycle customer as the only motorcycle with features of an executive model at an 'economy' price. Apache too continued its good performance and is expected to grow further in the coming months.

A new model of motorcycle will be launched in March 2007, which will enable stronger growth of motorcycles in the coming months.

In scooters, different variants of TVS Scooty clocked 19,937 units of sales in February 2007 compared to 16,052 units recorded last year during the same period, registering a growth of 24%.

On the export front, TVS continued with its growth trend with export of 8,017 vehicles in February 2007, a growth of 33% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
