Choosing a motorcycle for yourself needn’t be fraught with confusion. It can be quite enjoyable, and rewarding. For this to play out, you need to figure out what you need from your motorcycle, and how much you’re willing to pay for it. Let’s begin with the latter.
1. Budget: Motorcycles are available from as little as Rs. 5,000 in the used bike market, and prices can go up to over Rs. 50 lakh for some superbikes. To find the right bike for yourself, the first step is to figure out a budget. While at it, do keep 10 percent of the motorcycle’s cost for accessories and riding gear. Assume that you have a budget of about Rs. 1.5 lakh, a great bike to opt for would be the TVS Apache RTR 200 - one of the sportiest motorcycles in the sub-Rs. 1.5 lakh segment.
2. Figure out what kind of riding you intend to do. If you are unsure, buy one that has comfortable seating, adequate performance for both city and highway rides, and enough customization options to fit luggage and other touring accessories. A great bet for this would be the TVS Apache 180 RTR, which is comfortable, very safe with dual channel ABS, powerful enough for both city and highway rides, and also versatile enough to accommodate a range of soft and hard luggage options.
In the next part, let's look at specific TVS Apache motorcycles for specific requirements.
We will be back with exciting events after COVID-19.
