TVS Motor Company Motorcycle sales records 25 % growth in June 2005

TVS Motor Company's total two wheeler sales in June 2005 stood at 1,08,111 units compared to 91,945 units recorded during the same period last year, registering a growth of 18%.

The total motorcycle sales in June 2005 stood at 60,170 units compared to 48,159 units in the same period last year recording a growth of 25%. The growth of motorcycles was buoyed by strong demand witnessed in TVS Star Deluxe and the Victor brands. The company plans to launch more new motorcycles, which will further augment the sales.

In order to reinforce TVS Star Deluxe as the preferred motorcycle in the economy segment a new TV commercial was launched recently and several roadshows are being planned in the coming months.

The Scooterette sales clocked 22,829 units in June 2005 compared to 22,339 units recorded last year. TVS Scooty brand continues to be the market leader in the sub 100 cc scooterette segment.

Moped sales stood at 25,112 units in June 2005 compared to 21,447 units in the same period last year. The company continues to enjoy market leadership and has performed well compared to the industry.

In the export front, TVS Motor Company recorded its best ever export sales in a month of 7516 units in June 2005. It recorded a growth of 46% compared to the same period last year.
