TVS Ronin Drift-R: India’s Ultimate Flat-Track Training Academy

Most riders want to commute, but a few are passionate about mastering their machine to its absolute limit. If you ever dreamed of backing a bike into a corner, sliding it with rear-end out and controlling it entirely on the edge of traction, there’s a name you need to know – TVS Drift-R School.

What is TVS Drift-R?

TVS Drift-R is TVS Motor’s official flat-track biking school, focused around a custom-built TVS Ronin named Ronin Drift-R. It is an experience that teaches riders sliding, cornering and weight distribution for a perfect curve.

The program is held at multiple cities across India, with notable locations including: -

• ● Pune: at ProDirt Adventure facility, which also hosts the primary training academy.
• ● Bengaluru: at Aruani Grid.
• ● Delhi NCR: at Throttle Shrottle Moto Ranch (Gurugram).
• ● Hyderabad: at an off-road facility on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

The Machine - Ronin Flat Tracker

The bike made its first appearance at Motosoul 2023. It retains the standard Ronin’s ongoing engine, but this version of the TVS Ronin is heavily customised for dirt tracking.

Engineered to Slide

To transform a street-focused cruiser into a dirt-sliding weapon. TVS engineers focused on aggressive weight reduction and chassis geometry.

• ● Extreme Weight Reduction

Side panels, LED headlight, taillight, indicators, wiring and speedometer have been stripped away. Crucially, the front brake assembly is removed and, true to flat-track racing tradition, stock seats are also swapped for a flat, single-piece unit.

• ● Revised Frame & Exhaust

The subframe has been flattened with a metal sump guard for underbody protection. The stock exhaust canister is swapped for a much lighter, free-flow race exhaust.

These modifications drastically improve the bike’s power-to-weight ratio, resulting in an easier to toss into dirt corners and break rear traction in a controlled manner.

Training sessions run in a controlled environment and cover core flat-tracking fundamentals: sliding, cornering, body positioning and balancing throttle/brakes on loose surfaces.

What’s Included?

Sessions are divided into 3-hour blocks, including trackside training led by world-class motorsport athletes, 120 minutes of saddle time and 60 minutes of rest paired with breakfast.

All safety gear – riding pants, riding jacket, gloves, helmet, riding boots and body armour & guards are provided by TVS. So, riders can walk in, gear up and head straight onto the saddle without carrying their own kit.

Building on the academy’s momentum, TVS ran the inaugural Ronin Drift-R Cup at Motosoul 2024, giving trained riders a competitive platform to test their skills, and the tournament is evolving into a recurring fixture on TVS’s motorsport calendar.
