TVS Motor Company registers 16% growth in July '11 sales

TVS Motor Company has registered an increase of 16% in sales during the month of July 2011. Consistent demand across all segments has enabled total sales of 192,000 units in July 2011 against 166,214 units in the corresponding month of the previous year. Growth in domestic sales as well as exports was witnessed in both two wheeler and three wheeler segments.

The company’s cumulative sales for the months of April to July 2011 grew by 16% with sales of 728,130 units against 630,054 units recorded in the previous comparable period.

Two Wheeler
Total two wheeler sales grew by 16% with sales of 188,500 units in July 2011 in comparison with 163,106 units recorded in July 2010.

Scooter sales increased by 24% with sales of 50,000 units, compared to 40,357 units recorded in July 2010. Motorcycles grew by 19% accounting for 72,500 units in July 2011 as against 61,051 units in July 2010.

Domestic two wheeler sales of the company reported a growth of 14% with sales of 163,500 units in July 2011 against 143,039 units reported in July 2010.

Exports
Exports grew by 29% recording total sales of 27,500 units in July 2011 as against 21,273 units in the same month of the previous year. The company exported 25,000 units of two wheelers in July 2011 in comparison with 20,067 units in July 2010, an increase of 25%.

Three Wheeler
In July 2011, the company sold 3,500 units of three wheelers as against 3,108 units in the comparable month of the previous year, a growth of 13%. Cumulative three wheeler sales for the months of April and July 2011 stood at 14,923 units.
