The motorcycle's air filter is responsible for filtering out air impurities and ensuring that the fueling system has access to clean air for combustion. A dirty air filter will result in lethargic performance, excess fuel consumption and in extreme cases - a jerky engine. Keeping the air filter clean is important.
Most motorcycles currently sold by TVS Motors are fitted with foam-type air filters fitted onto a metal mesh canister. To access the air filter, you need to do the following.
1. Remove the seat.
2. Remove the side panel on the left-hand side of the motorcycle.
3. Use a star screwdriver to remove the air filter cover present on the air box.
4. Remove the metal mesh canister, which contains two foam elements (the air filter)
5. Replace the foam elements with new ones, and insert them into the metal mesh canister
6. Replace the metal mesh canister into the air box.
7. Refit the air filter cover.
8. Refit the side panel cover
9. Refit the seat
10. In case of motorcycles that use paper filters, replace the paper filter through the same process as detailed above.
We will be back with exciting events after COVID-19.
